Hello Crafters! I am so excited about today and this new journey. I was so honored when Sandra from
http://365daysofcricut.blogspot.com and Janis from
http://pausedreamenjoy.blogspot.com asked me to be a part of their Design Team for their new challenge blog,
http://flauntitfridays.blogspot.com. The designers are so talented, and such a bunch of sweet ladies. We thank you for joining us and hope that you will join us in the Flaunt It Friday Challenges.
To kick off the new blog we are having a blog hop, you should have arrived here from
Christina's blog. If you have lost your way you should go and start at the Flaunt It Friday Blog. This week we had to work with the snowman from the Winter Frolic Cartridge on page 29. I decided to make a gift tag
This is my first shot at a gift tag. I think it came out pretty cute.
My friend asked me to make her fifty tags for a Christmas party she is having, so I chose to keep it fairly simple. With this one I cut the snowman out three times so I could paper pierce and layer him. I won't be doing that with the rest of the 49:). I don't know why I did not take a picture so you could see a side view, but trust me there is a lot of layers and demension. I applied Liquid Applique so she looks like she was actually made from snow. I stamped the the actual tag with some different sized snowflakes for a background. Of course every girl needs her bling, so I added some to her earmuffs and gloves.
Supplies:
Winter Frolic-Snowman 3 inches cut 3 times. I cut the head of off the top layer and pop dotted up the lower portion
Plantin School Book: Tag 5.5 inches
Pattern Card Stock: Martha Stewart Holidays Collection
Solid Cardstock: Stampin' Up
Background Stamps: Martha Stewart Holidays Collection
Sentiment: Simply Everything-Pink By Design (Sarah from Pink Cricut)
Stampin' Up Ink: Craft Whisper White, Pacific Point, Real Red
Liquid Applique: For the snow effect
Fibers, Bling, and Prima Pearls for the eyes
For our second project we could use any cut from the Winter Frolic Cartridge. I used the Ginger Bread girl from page 34, to add some cuteness to the gift card holder. Here are some photos and a little direction on how to make one yourself.
First start with your cardstock cut at 6X51/4. On the 5 1/4 inch side score each end at 3/4. Then on the 6 inch side score at 1 1/4 and 3 3/4. Once you are done scoring cut the 3/4 corners out. You gift card holder should look like this.
Now you can use your bone fold and fold at the score lines and add adhesive to the flaps.
I added a belly band, 1X9, to keep it secured in place. Embellish as desired.
I added the gingerbread girl to the belly band with pop dots. There you have it a simple, cute gift card holder. I will be making a bunch of these since it seems like everyone just wants gift cards:)
