Whimsical Wednesday Challenge, A Give Away, and A Blog Hop!

Hello my creative friends. I hope your new year is off to a great start. My hubby and I have spent the last few days taking down all the decorations, and getting them back up into the attic. This is always so emotional for me, I get sad when the holidays are over and tend to get into a bit of a gloomy mood. We also had some purging to do with the little one's old toys in order to make room for the new ones. Yesterday I finally finished packing them all up, and today my husband took them all to be donated. The little one was not happy about watching her toys go, even though she does not even play with half of them anymore. Each time my husband walked out the door with a box she would start crying her eyes out and yelling...my toys, my toys. I tried to explain to her how fortunate we are and that there are so many little children in this world that do not have ANY toys. She is only two years old so she had a hard time understanding.

Now that the house is all organized and everything is put away, it is time to start crafting again. I feel like my last few projects have been so rushed, because in the back of my mind I knew how much other holiday stuff needed to get done. Jess and I did not want to rush through our first project of the year for our Whimsical Wednesday challenge, so we are starting back up next week. We are super excited for this particular challenge. It is a theme we both love and we have a super talented guest designer that is joining us. I hope you will all come back and join in on the fun:).

Since we are not going to have a challenge this week we decided to do a give away.  In order to qualify please become of follower of my blog and Jess blog at http://myscrapdiary-jess.blogspot.com. Leave us each a comment letting us know that you became a follower, and include an idea for a challenge that you would like to see us have coming up on Whimsical Wednesdays. We really want to give you projects that will inspire you and that you would be interested in joining. :) It would be great if you could come up with two ideas and leave one idea on each blog. Does that make sense....I hope so. I will use random.org and announce the winner here next Wednesday. *Update: We have gotten such a great response to this post with fantastic ideas for upcoming challenges. We are going to end the giveaway Monday night at midnight, instead of Tuesday night. We will spend Tuesday tallying up the suggestions and them post the results on our Whimsical Wednesday post. * Here is the give-away
Now how about a blog hop? This Friday the Flaunt It Friday Design Team is having a blog hop and it is all about Hello Kitty. Now who doesn't love that little kitty.  The hop will start at  http://www.flauntitfridays.blogspot.com on January 7 at midnight. Numerous designers have been added to the FIF DT, so you will get lots of inspiration. Along with two Hello Kitty themed projects, I will be offering up some blog candy too. To qualify be sure to stop by and leave me a comment.
Thanks for stopping by my blog:) Have a great day!

Hey Stephanie,
I'm a long time follower. :)
I would love to see a challenge with the "Give a Hoot" cartridge. I think this cartridge has lots of potential but I never really know what to make with it. I have only used a few of the images and they are the owls and the trees.
Thanks for the chance at an awesome giveaway.
Have a great day! :)

Hi Stephanie,

I've been a follower for a while. I think it would be fun to do a shaped card challenge. Something different than the rectangles and sqaures we see all the time.

Hi!! I think that most challenges are strictly about cards but if all scrappers have something in common is that we are all behind on our scrapbook and that is the reason why we started the whole paper crafts thing. So please a strictly scrapbook challenge. TFS!! Take Care!!
