I thought it would be fun to work from a picture for our color inspiration. I Googled color challenge and picked the first picture that came up. Boy was this a challenge. At least for me. Here is what I came up with
Since these are not colors I typically work with this was definitely a challenge. I chose to pull the yellow, green, black and brown from the picture to make my card. I tried to incorporate the rust color, but it was just not working. I inked all the edges and the bird with Stampin' Up Chocolate chip ink. I punched holes around the border of the card, and yellow layer, with my big bite crop-a-dile so that I could lace some pretty green trim around the edge of the card. I cut the black out layer of the bird cage using black magic Core'dinations cardstock and sanded it so that the yellow would peak through. It was my fist time working with Core'dinations and I really like it. I added some craft wire to the top of the birdcage so that it would hang from the card. It is hard to tell in the picture but the birdcage is hanging away from the card.
Crafting Goodies Used:
Straight From The Nest: Birdcage, Card base, and Layers, Flourishes
Patterned CardstockPaper: Basic Grey Origins Collection
Solid Cardstock: All Stampin' Up
Core'dinations: Color Core Cardstock
Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Swirls Set Embossing Folder
Handmade roses, Prima Pearls, Craft wire, and Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip Ink

Looks beautiful and also looks like she has managed to pull some other colors from the picture that Margie and I may have not used. I can't wait to see what she made. Please make sure you stop by her blog for more color inspiration. Thank you Charlotte and Margie for your beautiful projects this week!;)
