Hello and welcome back. Today I am going to share with you a Halloween Home Decor project. I used wooden blocks, they measure 2x2, that I got from Micheals.
I did my best photographing these, sorry that it is hard to see the details. If you click on the photo it will enlarge. Here is what the blocks looked like before I did anything with them:
I started out by spraying them with Haunted Shadows Glimmer Mist and then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Black Soot ink:
If you don't have glimmer mist you could always use paint. I waited for them to dry a bit and then heat set them all for good measures. To adhere the green paper down I used Mod Podge, and once that was dry I painted them with Tim Hotz Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. I used my Silhouette for all the cuts. I created the font from my computer, and all of the other cuts are from SVG.com. I used the Elmhurst Hollow, and Hazels Wicked Witch Crafts SVG Kit's for all the rest of the cuts.
I painted the bat and spiders eyes red, with my Creative Inspiration paint. I used green stickles for the cats eyes, and tied a bow around his neck with twine from Trendy Twine. The white stuff that I put on all the blocks is called White Spider Web, and you can get it at your local craft store. I had a really hard time using that stuff, and almost threw the entire project out of the window. I could of used a little wine when it was finally all done:)
Here is the giveaway for today:
