"Layer It"

Happy Wednesday! It is time for another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. Today we had to make a Christmas or winter themed project/card and add layers to it. Here is what I came up with:
I used my Cricut Imagine and the Snow Angel Cartridge for my card. This is only my second time using it. I am liking it more and more:). I cut all the images out and their layers and pop doted them. I inked up the edges, and added some bling to the pom-poms. The mat is a stock image that comes with the imagine and I flooded it with one of the patterns from the Snow Angel cart. The ticket is a Tim Hotlz die called Ticket Strip. That fun sentiment "Have Snow Much Fun" just may be an early sneeky peak of one of my stamps sets. You will have to come back tomorrow and Friday to find out for sure:)

Now for the design team's "Layer It" projects:

"Scraptastic Monday"

Hello Whimsical crafters. It is time for another Scraptasic Challenge with Cindy. Today we had to make a Christmas card but could not use the colors Green, Red, or Gold. We all use Cindy's amazing digital stamps, they can be found here at her online shop, but you don't have to use a digital stamp on your project for your challenge entry. If you have not checked out Cindy's digital stamps you should. I know some people can be intimidated when it comes to digital stamps and coloring...but she has something for everyone. You can start with something simple:)  Here is my card:
For my card today I used Sweet Gingerbread Tags. The set comes with two tags the little boy that I used here, and a little girl. So cute!  He was very easy and lots of fun to color. I used my Prisma Colored Pencils, then added some chalk for the cheeks and tongue. For the tongue I used one of my copic markers and added some glossy accents. I distressed the entire tag with Tim Holtz Antique Linen, and added Martha Stewart Micro Beads around the edge. I embossed the base of the card (only the front part) with the Dearly folder by Sizzix, and then cut the top layer with the Elegant Edges Cricut Cart. I added some snowflake embellishments from Recollections, some twill tape to the tag, and inked up all the edges to finish it off.

All of Cindy's challenges stay open for two weeks. You still have time to enters last week's challenge (make a different style fold card can not make an A2 or Shape card..must include ribbon and a die cut) To see what the rest of the talented design team has created this week hop on over to Cindy's blog. Cindy just may have a little blog candy for one random winner that enters the challenge this week..!

Whimsical Wednesday "Add Texture"

Hello Whimsical Crafters. I hope everyone is having a great week. I can't believe how fast these months are passing us by. I can't believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving already! This week we have a fun, and easy challenge for you, you can create any themed card/project that you would like, but you must add texture. Super fun! Here is what I came up with.
I used Create A Critter for my cute little Turkey. I embossed part of the body with the Swiss Dots Folder, used Peaky Keen Critter Faces small, and stuck a little feather in his hat. My texture is the embossing on the turkey and the layer is he on (Houndsooth Cuttle Bug Folder). The flower is a Stampin' Up punch, the sentiment is from the dollar bin, and all the papers are from Best Creations-Hello Fall Collection.

Here is what the fabulous design team came up with. I am going to start of with Whimsical Wednesdays brand new designers Wendy from Gilby's Craftster and Sabrina from Scrappin' with Sabrina, . and Margie from Bella Bug Creations. I am so excited to have them aboard..they are going to make a great addition to the team. Help me in welcoming Wendy, Sabrina, and Margie this week, and be sure to go over their blogs and say hi.

"Scraptastic Monday"

Hello Whimsical Crafters. It is time for another Scraptastic Challenge. In case this is your first visit let me fill you in. Cindy, from Cindy's Little Creations, has a brand new challenge every Monday. The design team has the honor of showcasing her amazing digital stamps. Even though there is a brand new challenge every week, they remain open for two weeks. This week we had to create a different style card, other than an A2 or Shape Card, and incorporate ribbon, and a die cut. You do NOT have to use a digital stamp to play along.  Here is what I came up with.
This is called a round easel card. I used my nesties to cut the base of the card, the scallop background, and the circle that "Christmas Penguin" is on (those are my die cuts). I used one of Cindy's images "Naughty or Nice" and cut the santa's hat off of her and pop dotted onto the penguin. You can get this adorable image, and naughty or nice right here at Cindy's shop. I used my Prisma Colored Pencils, and some chalk to color her in.  The white puffy stuff for the hat and around the edge of the scallop is called liquid applique. It comes it lots of different colors, and has many uses too. I inked all edges with Stampin Up Real Red and Baja Breeze classic ink. Added a bow, and some bling and viola!

Be sure to hop on over to Cindy's blog to see what the talented design team came up with for this challenge.

Don't forget you still have time to enter the Whimsical Wednesday "Happy Turkey Day" challenge. This Wednesday we will have a brand new challenge for you...and I will also announce the release dates of my brand new stamp line.

Have a great week, and thanks for stopping by.

Whimsical Wednesday Challenge "Happy Turkey Day"

Good morning Whimsical Crafters. It is time for another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. This week we are creating a card/project that is Thanksgiving Themed. Be sure to read the rest of the guidelines at the end of the post to qualify for the prizes.  Here is my project for this week:
This is a box from the Spring Holiday Cards Cartridge. I started with just a piece of vanilla card stock, and used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress inks to get the color I wanted. I then used a background stamp to add some interest. The flowers were made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die, I added some berries, and Diamond Dust to the center (this makes it looks like there is some sap on them). The sentiment comes from Cindy's digital shop, but this week she is giving it away as a freebie. You can get it right here. I colored it with my Stampin' Up Write Markers and then painted it with Tim Holtz crackle paint clear rock candy. Once it was dry I inked it with more distress inks. I was inspired to try this technique from one of our very own Whimsical Designers, Joni. I tied a bow around a cinnamon stick with Shabby Crinkle Ribbon from the Prairie Bird Boutique and attached it with a glue dot. Here is the rest of the awesome designers Turkey Day projects:
Amazing job. Please be sure to hop on over to the designer's blogs and leave them some love!

"Scraptastic Monday Challenge"

Good morning and welcome to Cindy's first Scraptastic Challenge. Every Monday she will have a new challenge, but you will have two weeks to join.  This week we had to create a bag or box that is Thanksgiving themed, and we had to add a tag, stitching and buttons. I used the box from Sweet Tooth Boxes.
I used Cindy's cute little image called "Turkey Lurkey" and colored him with my Prisma Colored Pencils. He is cut out and layered on Nestabitities to create my tag. For my stitching, I stitched around the outside of my beaded circle nestie, with a black Sakura pen. Cindy's favorite flowers are sunflowers, so added a little button off to the side. I tied some shabby crinkle ribbon from Patsy's store-link on side bar, and then tied the tag to the ribbon with some vintage twine. Here is the side of the box
I punched around the edges of the top of the box with my SU scallop border punch, then did the same thing to another color and layered it on top.

You can get all of Cindy's images in her online shop. Be sure to check in daily as she is added new images to her store.

To see what the rest of the talented team created hop on over to Cindy's Blog.

Thank you for stopping by today/commenting. Don't forget you still have time to enter the Anything Goes Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. Just click on the button on the left side bar to be directed to the link.

Now onto our challenge for this week. This week we had some last minute changes...I am sure you all know about those. Originally our challenge was to create a project about something we are thankful for! At the last minute it was decided to go ahead with an anything goes. So this week we are having an "anything goes" challenge! Here is my card for today:
This card is for my hubby for our Anniversary. I am so thankful for him and our love! I cut the frame from the Elegant Edges Cartridge, the birds, and the hearts are from the online Silhoutte store. The font is from my computer. I inked all the edges of the cuts with Stampin' Up chocolate chip ink. I pop-dotted everything for added dimension. All the cardstock is from My Minds Eye Lost and Found Collection.

And here is what the awesome Design Team came up with:
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Chloe this week. She certainly will be missed. This will be her last post. She has a plate full of exciting new things going on. They are going to be enough to keep her busy until 2013! Up you read that right 2013:(, so she will not be able to keep up with bloggy commitments. Chloe has promised to come back and re-join Whimsical Wednesdays at that time. Chloe, I am holding you to that my sweet friend;) We all wish you well in your new endeavors, and thank you for all the wonderful inspiration you brought to Whimsical Wednesdays.
