Good morning! I can't believe it has been a week since my last post. My little one was really sick, and the Dr. was even thinking she was going to have to go into the hospital. She finally started to get better on Saturday. This week our challenge (#41), is to create a scrapbook LO/Card/Project of any theme, but you have to use something old. This means something that you bought and never used, or something that you have not used in a long time. Such items include a crafting tool, or anything that you use on a project: embellishments, ink, glitter, paper, and so on:). Also include in your post, if you thought it was something you would use a lot when you purchased it. My project today was originally for my Featured Fridays, but I was not able to get it done in time with my daughter being so sick. As I was working on it, I realized it worked perfectly for today's challenge. I am sure you have all heard of Smash Books by now. For those of you who are unfamiliar with them, they are a journal styled book by K and Company. They come in 5 or 6 different styles. Here is the first two pages in my book:
I found an online group that has created monthly challenges to help you along with your book. The first challenge was a bucket list, or goals/resolutions for the New Year. I used my new favorite paper collection, Pixie Glen by Prima to embellish the page with. I used the little journaling tags, that are include with the collection, to write some of my goals on. I created three larger journaling spaces for personal goals, that I necessarily did not want to share online. I filled them in immediately after I took the pictures for the post. I used a lot of older stuff on here. I think this book is perfect for smashing in all those old stickers and embellishments that you may have collected back when there was no cricut, or any of those other fancy crafting stuff they have out there now. Since I only started crafting over the past two years, I don't have a lot of that stuff, but I have heard a lot of people say they have bins filled with stickers, and stuff! Here is what I used that was old:
Botanical Mix Prima Flowers (never used): These are all white and intended for inking, painting, misting..or whatever you can do to add color to them. When I bought these (about a year ago) I thought I would use them all the time!
Creative Inspiration Paints (probably used a few months ago): I painted my flowers with the paints. Although, I used these a few months ago, I wanted to include them because I thought I would use them all the time...and really should be using them a lot more. They have so many uses.
I-Rock: I used it to adhere the bling to one of the journaling tags. I purchased this when it first came out, with every intention of using it all the time, I can count on one hand how many times I have. I have a reason for not using it as much as I had planned have found a solution and will share that in Featured Friday Post!
Metal Embellishments: I added them to the larger journaling areas. I bought these thinking I would find a use for them someday..lol, and I finally did! That is it for old stuff.:)
I also included a sentiment on each of the bigger tags: I thought they were perfect little reminders for every day living "Live Out Loud" "Be Unique, Be Unforgettable, Be you" from Whimsical Fun-volume one, and "Don't worry every little thing is gonna be alright." Before we move on to the DT reveal, I wanted to let everyone know that the DT call is CLOSED and all the opened spots have been filled. January just flew by and I did not even realize that last week ended the term. Sabrina, stepped down to pursue some personal things that will take up a lot of her time. We will miss her, and wish her all the best. Thank you to every one that applied to the DT call. The new girls will be announced on February 15, when they will join us for their first challenge.
